Aim: The Kahului Harbor Master Plan/Environmental Impact Statement effort continues the work of Harbors Division to plan and develop harbor facilities that help Maui to enjoy its prosperity and quality of life. We are updating our Kahului plan in recognition of the crowded conditions in the harbor. We seek to develop long-term solutions to today’s challenges and those of the years to come. The 2025 master plan is being updated to address the robust growth and new maritime operations that will challenge Kahului Commercial Harbor through the year 2030. Draft EIS Text: available for download at the OEQC web site (27.1MB PDF) Revised Draft Programmatic EIS: DOT has decided to revise the draft EIS, and will issue a new version in 2009. It will be available on this site. EIS Preparation Notice for the 2030 Master Plan: The EIS Preparation Notice is for the Hawaii EIS process.
