Robin has three and a half (3.5) years of experience in civil and water resource engineering, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) analysis and CAD Civil 3D design and drafting.  She has worked with engineers, landscape architects and planners throughout project development to produce and maintain databases, maps and analyses that support project implementation.  She has created 3-dimentional models of sites for visualization, design and planning by efficiently gathering spatial information from the best available data.  Ms. Betz has prepared civil engineering design work including road layout, site utility layout, earthwork calculations, grading plans, corridor design, watershed calculations and has worked on survey crews as an instrument person and backsighting. Robin has also worked as a Teaching Assistant and CAD Technician for Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) where she compiled and edited CAD files for the development of a Virginia Tech  Site and Infrastructure Development Base Map Works .  As a Teaching Assistant she worked with her students in both CAD and GIS application courses.  While in Blacksburg, Virginia, she designed a spatial analysis for a large stream network in the mid-Atlantic highlands which included the collection of data, developed methodologies, validated models, maintained metadata and coordinated research at the Center for Environmental Applications in remote Sensing (CEARS) Laboratory. Robin understands water as she is a professional kayaker and competes in down river races and has orchestrated domestic and international kayaking expeditions.  She also is a professional photographer specializing in the capture of the sport of kayaking through film and photography. Robin is technically skilled in a wide variety of CAD and GIS applications including:  Autodesk Civil 3D, Land Development Desktop, Revit, Viz Render; Bentley Microstation, WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, StormCAD, SewerCAD; ESRI ArcGIS, Manifold GIS, Erdas Imagine, Adobe Creative Suite 3 (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); Microsoft Office Professional, Google Sketch-Up Pro, Google Earth Pro, Apple Final Cut Studio Video Editing Software.
